Time for
our Summer Summary! Summer break went by very quickly and we stayed pretty
busy! As I mentioned before, we had a new sitter, Hannah. The kids really liked
having her for the summer and she kept them pretty busy going to parks and the
Big Splash (our pool). They also took our cats on a car ride around our neighborhood, which sounded like a lot of fun :) Here are some photos of the kids' time with Hannah:
In
preparation for Kindergarten, Parker attended Safety Town. This is a free program for new kindergarteners and it was held at his
elementary school and was for seven days. Parker went in the afternoon. He did
end up missing some of the days due to our Put In Bay trip. Parker had a really
good time at Safety Town and learned about the police and bus safety (I believe
there were other topics, but I can’t recall what they were).

A
bowling center near us offered free bowling for kids all summer. While we would
have liked to go a few times, we only made it once. Unlike last year, Parker
actually put on the bowling shoes and played this year! We played two games,
and that seemed to be just enough for us J
Isabelle
attended horse camp at Liberty Farms again this year. She learned all kinds of
things about horses and got to ride one each day. For the majority of the time,
she rode Tye Dye. She liked it so much, she has been asking to take horse riding
lessons. The instructors there really like Isabelle and are hoping she can go
back.
Father's Day happens in June... We had to go big on the card for Shane this year, since he started wearing reading glasses.
Also in June, we played outside a lot and went to local parks. The weather this June was great for a lot of outdoor time!
Next up... July happenings!
