Diane's Birthday

We surprised Diane for her 70th birthday! Our family, Cathy's family and Lance got together at Lake Hope Lodge for Sunday brunch. When she arrived there with Clyde, she was very surprised that we were there! After our meal, we all went back to Diane and Clyde's house and had a great day together.

Thanksgiving 2013

We had a nice Thanksgiving with Diane, Clyde and Lance this year at their house. Seth made a couple of pieces of artwork to prepare for Thanksgiving:

From school, Seth is thankful for "My Family, School, God, My House, Weekends, Life"

Seth made this at home, tracing his hand to make a turkey. We laughed because his beak seems to be on top of his head!
Seth also had an assignment at school to plan a Thanksgiving meal. He had to make an invitation, a guest list and plan the meal using a budget of $150. Then he had to display everything he did on a poster. I helped him a lot with this project and it was a lot of fun. Isabelle wanted to make a poster for this project too. The following picture is Isabelle's poster. Seth's had to be turned in at school.

Ash Cave

The day after Easter we all went to Ash Cave in Hocking Hills State Park with Diane & Clyde (Shane's parents). The weather cooperated and we had true Spring temperatures and a really nice day. A short walk on a path lead to the cave and waterfall.

Are these children being closely controlled?

This smiley face stump was along the path leading to the cave

All three kids had a good time exploring the cave, the sand, the rocks and the water.

Neat!

Made it to the top! Grandma Diane wrote Seth's name on the rock.

Look back to May 2006...... the last time we visited Ash Cave with Isabelle & Seth almost 6 years ago....

Labor Day

We took a trip to Nelsonville to visit Grandma Diane and Grandpa Clyde on Labor Day. The rainy weather didn't stop us from having fun! The kids played on the front porch with Play Doh for quite a while and swang on their favorite tree swing. They also walked down to Uncle Lance's pond (next door) with Grandma and cousin Kade to feed the fish.

Inside they watched a Rudolph Christmas movie, one of their favorites, and had an indoor picnic. In their basement is a very popular toy, the riding horse. Isabelle and Seth both loved this horse when they were younger (actually, Seth still loves it!), and this was the first time that Parker got to ride it. He really liked it! He seemed to go into a trance with all the bouncing. I'm sure as he gets older, he will look forward to going to Nelsonville to ride the horse!
