Parker's Haircut

Today we went to Cookie Cutters in Hilliard for Parker's haircut. Parker had never been there before, but we used to take Isabelle and Seth there before we moved to Grove City. This place is great for kids. It has an indoor playset (that Parker loved) and the kids get to sit in fun seats. Parker sat in an airplane. They also have cars and a motorcycle to sit in. Each seat has a t.v. and dvd player for kids' movies. Parker got to watch Numbers Nursery, a Baby Einstein movie that he loves. He was hesitant to sit in the airplane seat and cried a bit, but once his movie started, he focused on that and did great during his haircut.

Seth's School Work

Seth brought this home from school today. I thought it was so cute!

It's a picture of what he did over the weekend and then he wrote out what he did. In case you have trouble reading it, it says (with spelling corrected), "This weekend I played with Dylan and the computer and with my little brother and my big sister."    :-)

First Day of School

Today is the first day back to school!! Seth & Isabelle are both excited to get back to J.C. Sommer Elementary School this year.

Excited for their first day!

Seth is in first grade and his teacher is Ms. Agriesti. His friend Taran is in his class, along with a few friends from his Kindergarten class. His best friend from last year, Garrett, is in another class, but they will still be able to play together at recess. This is the first year that he will go 5 days a week.

Isabelle is in fourth grade and her teacher is Ms. McMunn. Ms. Ayala will teach her class Math. During the school's open house, Ms. McMunn handed out a list of optional school supplies for the kids to bring. Isabelle was really excited about that! She loves school supplies. She immediately packed up her markers, pencils, erasers, crayons, pen, etc. She was most excited that she gets to take dry erase markers and that they will use them EVERY DAY for math!

World of Bounce

There is a neat place called World of Bounce in Grove City. It has giant inflatable slides and bounce houses. The kids and I went there one morning before Parker's nap and we all had a good time!

Star Camp

Isabelle and Seth attended Star Camp which was held at the Grove City Church of the Nazarene. It was a week long and held in the evenings. They each got to choose 2 activities they wanted to participate in for the week. Seth chose acting and dance, and Isabelle chose performing arts and dance. The performing arts consisted of face painting, ballooning, photography and juggling. Her favorite one of these was ballooning, so we bought more balloons and a balloon pump for her to practice making shapes out of balloons.

On the last day of camp, they held a share day. We got to see Seth perform in a skit. He needed prompting from others in his skit, but he did well and liked being on stage. Seth and Isabelle both performed in a dance on the stage.

Cousins

Parker, Seth and Isabelle got to spend some time together with their youngest cousin, Connor, at Grandma Barb and Grandpa Steve's house. It's always fun to see how Parker and Connor interact!

Connor sharing snacks. Actually, Connor is holding Parker's snacks and letting him have some!

Family Friday at the Commons

There is a park in downtown Columbus called Columbus Commons. They have all kinds of events here throughout the summer. Every Friday morning is Family Fun Day. Parker, Seth and I went there on the first Friday of the summer (Isabelle was at Grandma & Grandpa's house). They had a bounce house, a water slide, a huge Chess game and free carousel rides. Seth got to do the bounce house and the carousel ride. Both Parker and Seth had fun playing with some big, foam building blocks. Seth built this structure and Parker made himself right at home on it!

They also had a bubble machine that Parker really liked. Parker also had fun walking back and forth on this cement curb - sometimes it's the simplest things!

Garage Sale

Our annual garage sale was held at the beginning of June. The weather cooperated and we had lots of baby clothes, toys and household items to sell. Seth sold lemonade and Isabelle offered face painting and temporary tattoos. Isabelle painted Seth's face and our neighbors' faces and she was pretty good at it. Even though garage sales are a lot of work, we had fun with it this year.
